Robin Walters

Robin Walters BSc MICE FIHE - Director WMA & Chairman Walcon Marine Ltd

Further to Robins successful career as a Chartered Civil Engineer and Company founder of Walcon Marine Ltd (1963) based in the UK, Robin was keen to expand the company to include international distributors.

After extensive travel & research he was excited by the prospects within the Australian marina industry and in the year 2000 agreed to a joint business venture with Peter Stanley from Western Australia to set up WALCON MARINE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD.

Robin has many years experience within the marine industry and his expertise is seen as a valuable asset to WMA.

Although still based in the UK, he looks forward to his bi-annual trips to the beckoning Aussie sun & waters and plays a very active role within the Australian company.


James Walters

James Walters M.Eng - Managing Director

Having achieved his M.Eng in Civil Engineering in 1988, James (Robin's son) subsequently spent four years gaining experience as a Projects Manager in the construction industry before joining the family business in 1993. James' experience with Walcon however began at a much earlier age, when he spent many a school holiday working both out on site and in the factory.

As Managing Director he now runs Walcon from its UK Head Office, overseeing every aspect of the business including Walcon Marine Australia with frequent visits throughout the year.


George Sofoulis

George Sofoulis - General Manager - West

George is responsible for all operational activities on the western seaboard of the continent, including Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

George joined the Walcon team in Australia in late 2011, at a time when the company was entering a new phase in its growth. He immediately oversaw the establishment of a new administration office in the city of Mandurah and, with his team, has already lifted the operation and its service levels to the current client base.

George is presently implementing new ideas and improvements from his previous twenty-five years of management experience in the automotive industry, and sees a number of parallels in his new sector area regarding customer satisfaction and service. He is passionate about his role and is looking forward to the many and various challenges he faces with his new company, in the marine industry.


Andy Goss

Andy Goss - General Manager - East

Andy, a BEng (Hons) of Engineering, met Robin at the Sydney International Boat Show in October 2009. He had just sailed to Australia from Cornwall in a reproduction of a 37’-00” Cornish Fishing Lugger, replicating an historic voyage of 1854.

Originally born in Swan Hill, Australia, he became GM - East, responsible for all of Walcon marine Australia’s operational activities in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Andy is now based in Queensland at Coomera, on the Gold Coast.


Ian McAndrew

Ian McAndrew CPA - Senior Group Consultant

Ian has a long and outstanding professional background internationally in the marina industry as a planner, developer, operator and consultant.  He sits on numerous Australian marina industry boards and committees and is a Life Member of several major marine organisations. Ian is the world body ICOMIA's International Marina Group Vice Chairman.

He joined Walcon in 2004 and brings invaluable marina development and management knowledge and skills to planners, developers, engineers and clients of Walcon Marine in Australia, Asia and The Pacific where he undertakes the senior consulting role on major development projects for Walcon Marine Australia and Walcon Marine China.
